A new movement helps hone unique traits of disorder into valuable skills

[Autism], which strikes about 1 in 150 U.S. children, is considered a "spectrum disorder" because it affects people in many different ways to varying degrees, from mild social troubles to a severe inability to communicate.

It's often seen as a heartbreaking diagnosis, but now some revolutionary companies see autism as something else: a resource.

A quiet movement is growing around the globe to help transform the unique attributes of high-functioning autistic adults into sought-after job skills.

In Denmark, the company Specialisterne (the name means "the specialists"), trains people with autism as specially skilled employees who are sent out as hourly consultants to companies to do data entry, assembly work and other jobs that many workers would find tedious and repetitive. Founded in 2004 ... the company has 50 employees, 75 percent of whom are autistic. Potential employees go through months of screening and training before they are sent as hourly consultants to clients who must understand that the specialists will work only part-time, and they cannot work in a chaotic environment with more than a few other people in the room. In return, Specialisterne assumes much more responsibility for their employees than most companies, with learning experts and social workers on staff.

In the United States, the non-profit Chicago company Aspiritech recently launched a pilot program to train high-functioning autistics as testers for software development companies. Their first client is mFluent, an iPhone application company near Chicago.

Aspiritech ... claims those who are autistic have a talent for spotting imperfections, and thrive on predictable, monotonous work.

[they] say [their] ability to focus on something to the exclusion of everything else gives [them] an advantage. And Specialisterne says tests show their employees can be up to eight times more accurate at tasks like manual data entry than workers without autism.

"The stuff we do is boring for [others], like going through a program looking at every detail, testing the same function over and over again in different situations, but it doesn't disturb those of us with autism," says Thomas Jacobsen, an autistic employee at Specialisterne. "That's our strength."

Still, software testing isn't simply a repetitive exercise, ... While traits of "detail focus, willingness to repeat tasks and technical aptitude are ones we look for in testers, testing has a lot of creative work," he notes. Testers need to be able to figure out possible solutions to problems and be agile enough to change plans at the last minute or deal with sudden new requirements.

RNC released a list of "republican principles", i.e., 10 positions, disagreeing with 7 of which disqualifies a candidate from the party support. Let's see...

(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s “stimulus” bill
Check. Note the order: lower taxes after reducing debt and deficit.

(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run health care
What is "market-based health care reform"?
Providing health care to employees is the biggest problem for small businesses, so a single-payer system is a must.

(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation
The "cap and trade" imbecility indeed does not work.
We need a carbon tax from which the utilities will not be able to weasel out, like they now do with "cap and trade" with the grandfathering provisions.

(4) We support workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check;
Check.

(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
Check. Especially the "assimilation" part. I would also give a visa to anyone with at least a Master's degree in a technical field from a good school.

(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
Year, right. Fighting in a way our opponents understand (i.e., mass-murdering civilians) is against our core beliefs, so no surges will do us any good. We should either get out of there altogether or finance a side which would further our goals - ignoring the methods that side might employ. Disgusting? Yes! Can't live with it? Then learn that you cannot explain the notions of liberal democracy to people who practice female genital mutilations and honor killings and get out of those countries!

(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
Dream on. The only thing which works on this planet is force (or a credible threat thereof). We cannot (for internal reasons) threaten these nations with nukes, so we have absolutely no leverage with them.

(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
Check. We need to put a stop somewhere, e.g., a "menage a troi" or "human-dog" relationships are obviously (at least for now) not kinds of marriage. Restricting marriage to what it has meant for millennia seems reasonable.

(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion;
Huh? So we are supposed to keep vegetables on the ventilator forever?
Seriously, "health care rationing" is inevitable and is already happening.

(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership.
Check!!! Make gun ownership mandatory!

Hmm, I guess I am not republican enough.

Причём, на 8% выросло количество людей, которые считают, что правительство не способно улучшить ситуацию. В то же время социологи отмечают рост на 2% рейтингов одобрения деятельности президента и премьера за последние месяцы. Стало быть, россияне чувствуют, что им правительство как-то… не поможет, не верят в это. Но - деятельность этого правительства одобряют. Приятно жить в этой стране, должно быть! Не знаю, как жить, но руководить такой страной, должно быть, очень приятно.

Вера в Вождя - она абстрактная, а восприятие происходящего конкретно. Абстрактное и конкретное проходят в мозгу типичного обывателя по разным ведомствам, не смешиваясь. Чтобы их сопоставить, нужно некоторое умственное усилие, а делать его тяжело и непривычно, да и жить потом с полученными выводами труднее. Поэтому задачу сопоставления те, кто все-таки рискуют к ней подойти, решают методами самостопа и двоемыслия - царь хорош, бояре плохи.

Иногда это выглядит довольно забавно.
Занесла меня судьба некоторое время назад на шабаш патриотов-конспирологов - самых твердокаменных, у которых если с конца закапает, то это не банальный трепак, а непременно последствие всегдашней английской ненависти к свободолюбивой России. Тянущейся со времен аглицкого засланца Рюрика, отравившего полонием доброго русского князя Гостомысла (ну или наоборот - неважно, все равно англичанка гадит). Так они перед Путиным и Медведевым в позе полного лотоса, об одном рыдают, что те смертны и через полвека Русь-матушку сиротой оставят. Но при этом любимое детище ВВП - Единорастию - кроют жуткими матами не стесняясь. Кабмин - сборище ворья и врагов народа, совет федерации - зажравшиеся сатрапы с мест, детопупы - сами понимаете, милиция, генералитет и т.д., и т.п. Куда не глянь - чудовищная куча говна, в котором десять лет жемчужинами сияют кристалльно чистые Медведев и Путин и тем спасают Родину...

В общем, "сон разума рождает чудовищ".

Вчерашнее заявление министра внутренних дел Рашида Нургалиева, который напомнил россиянам об их праве на самооборону, в том числе и от незаконных действий сотрудников милиции, вызвало широкий общественный резонанс. Сегодня министерство внутренних дел дало разъяснение, в каких ситуациях россияне действительно могут воспользоваться правом на самооборону при незаконных действиях сотрудников милиции
Министр - лицо безответственное, он и не такое ляпнуть может...
А на практике у нас и от простого гопника-то обороняться - самому себе статью с пола поднять. А уж от мента...

Ну, надо же показывать "близость к народу", пусть и только на словах. Загнул разок-другой чего поколоритнее, сфотографировался на рыбалке с "обнажённым торсом" - всё, "пипл схавал", "свой мужик в доску". Это вам не Буш, падающий с велосипеда...
Вот это, кстати, совершенно чуждый подход. Настолько чуждый, что я бы спросил: "Ты что, блин, не русский, что ли?",- если бы, конечно, не знал ответ. :-)

Это в буржуазиях ихние премьеры-президенты разводятся, крутят шашни с девицами несомненного поведения и попадаются на мздоимстве, как Берлускони, а народ это прощает - типа "такой же, как мы". Наш же человек достаточно хорошо знает себя, чтобы испытывать к "своему в доску" как минимум недоверие - потому как представляет, как расслабился бы сам на высоком месте. "Миколка, чтобы ты делал, если б был царем? - Сидел бы на завалинке и лузгал семечки. А кто мимо идет, тому в морду, кто мимо - тому в морду!" (с) Куприн

Поэтому у нас всегда должен быть Государь-Батюшка, Надежда и Опора, Заступник, Защитник и Национальный Символ, Грозный, но Справедливый. Чтоб прикатил в коляске на Сенную либо в Пикалево, крикнул громовым голосом "На колени!", и все повалились как снопы от единого слова. Ну или никуда не прикатил, но чтоб в Кремле завсегда окошко горело и все знали - ночей не спит Гарант наш, все о народе думает.

Q. Isn't the fact that they are down under prevent them from launching directly into the outer space because they would have to go through the earth first?
A: No, actually all they need to do is drop their rocket and it will fall down off the planet, saving them a lot of fuel.

The Jews settled the moon in 2053, just about five years after the end of the Islamic Wars of the 40's, where the Middle East, and Israel , of course, had been obliterated by nuclear weapons.

The two million Jews remaining throughout the rest of the world - less than 100,000 total in all the Islamic countries - banded together and purchased the dark side of the moon, which no other companies or people wished to colonize.

Great transports were arranged via the 62,000 mile space elevator and the Space Shuttle and every Jew on Earth - including anyone who claimed any Jewish heritage whatsoever - left to go to a place where no one could blame them for anything.

The Earth rejoiced - happily rid of all Jews. There were huge parties throughout all of Sweden and the rest of Europe, Africa, Asia South America, and Nor th America . (Now known as the Northern Alliance of Islamic States after the United States was taken over peacefully in the elections of 2040 by a predominantly Muslim Congress and President, who immediately passed amendments making Islam the main religion of the United States and the world.)

After the last Jew entered the elevator, (a David Goldstein, 62, formerly of New York), the Earth was officially declared Judenrein, by Hans Ibn Hitler, a great, great-grandson of Hitler who had been raised in Brazil and hidden by Nazis until this precious moment.

It was not an easy move for the Jews but, in some ways, it was no different than all their moves of previous eras. Some former Israelis, (still alive because they were out of Israel when the bombs dropped), claimed that the moon was easier to deal with because there were no Extremist Muslims. Of course, this precipitated a huge argument with some Jews, who felt not having the Radical Muslims nearby was not enough challenge.

Other Jews argued that taming a wilderness with no atmosphere, plant or animal life and freezing temperatures was enough challenge.
And yet other Jews argued that arguing was counterproductive. It came a s no surprise to anyone that for the two million Jews, there were eventually one million synagogues. (With the other million Jew not joining.)

It was also no surprise that within just three years, the Jews had created a controlled environment that allowed for fantastic plant and animal growth and production. The transports, which had been called the Arks, had also carried two of each animal and plant (remember, Noah), and through the ingenuity of the Jews and cloning, there were now many new species which sped up production of food (cows with six udders, chickens with four legs and so forth.)

The population had rapidly increased and, due to the amazing collection of scientific and medical minds, most diseases and even ageing had been reduced to nil.
There was even a ministry of communication with Earth consisting of the remains of Hollywood producers and movie makers, who sent back to Earth portraits of life on the moon. Of course, it had been decided when the Jews first got to the moon - based on six-thousand-year history of people being jealous of Jewish accomplishment - that all news coverage of the moon's population would be 'movie-ized' to show only horrible things. The film industry, led by Jordan Spielberg, went to great lengths to fabric ate news clips to show Jews barely surviving in the harsh lunar habitat. Artists and engineers labored to cover over the vast environmental successes with illusionary domes showing massive areas of wasteland - just in case anyone from Earth ever sent a spaceship with cameras to see what was going on.

But no-one ever did, and the years passed rapidly. One decade, then another. Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, brises, all celebrated under the artificial world that the Jews had created - not only had it not been that bad, but by the end of the century, some Jewish authors were calling the moon colony - 'Eden 2'.

Of course other Jews disagreed. In fact, much time was spent on disagreeing. There were even contests for arguing but, in general, there was peace. Anyone who threatened the peace was forced to officiate at a contest with people arguing about why that person was wrong... The contests would go on for days, (sometimes weeks) until the troublemaker begged for forgiveness. (Many penalties on the moon were similar to this, and were extremely effective.)
Back on Earth, life disintegrated without the Jews. There was a return to Middle Ages thought - only the current religion du jour was valid - all others were kept legislated into poverty until a war erupted and the positions changed for a few years.

Another amazing anomaly appeared when there were no longer any Jews on Earth - anti-Semitism actually increased to monumental proportions! Famous orators explained this simply by saying; 'I don't have to have a gun to be afraid of having my brains blown out.'

Additionally, without the presence of the Jew, the world developed incredible evil that had no release. (Previous evil had always focused on the Jews;) One Rabbi on the moon actually said G-d spoke to him and said that he, G-d was about to destroy the Earth because everyone on the Earth was evil. The Rabbi begged him to reconsider, and bargained that if there were 1,000 good people left on Earth, G-d should spare the planet. G-d then told the Rabbi, 'Hey, I was through this before with Abraham and Noah and I already know the answer because I'm G-d.'

People laughed at the Rabbi, but then, one day, while all the lunar citizens were going about their business, an enormous series of explosions was seen on the Earth. Everyone on the moon stared at the distant fireballs that seemed to engulf the blue planet that was once their home.

Although there had been great anger at being forced to leave the Earth, the true spirit of Judaism was always present on the moon, and no one had wished ill on to their former home. As in the tradition of the Seder (when the wine is spilled because the Egyptians perished and we do not rejoice fully when even an enemy has died) when the Jews saw what was happening, they began to weep and pray, and watch what was to be the final news broadcast from Earth.

The horror of the apocalypse was videotaped by cameras until all electricity was ionized by the new electron bombs. Entire countries were wiped away in the blink of an ion exploding. And then came the final transmission from the nation that had started the entire mess - it was a desperate headline screamed by a hundred dying newscasters. Their rant continued until it was just blackness What were they saying? As the Jews watched, some gasped, others cried, and a few even laughed. For the last words of the disappearing civilization were a condemnation. 'The Jews have caused all our problems - they left us here to face the mess they made.' 'If the Jews hadn't taken all the best scientists and engineers, we could have defeated our enemies.' 'Our enemies are the Jews! Kill all the Jews.'

It took a little while, but the electronics experts pieced together what had happened on Earth during its last days Anti-Semitism, which had grown stronger and stronger since the Jews had left, had reached its pinnacle, and all the countries of the world had decided to launch a massive attack on the moon.

The attack had been coordinated by the United Nations and, although all the missiles had been launched properly, there was some sort of glitch in the targeting system, resulting in all the weapons colliding in the upper atmosphere and showering the Earth with a deadly rain of nuclear fire, electronic destruction and a generally bad day. The mistake triggered the military response of all the nations - (who all had nuclear weapons by then -plus a few other horrid toys) and the result was truly an Armageddon.

The Jews on the moon went into a period of deep mourning. The Orthodox rent their clothing and there were mass counselling sessions.
And then, about one week after the BIG DAY, as it was now called, a presence was detected heading towards the moon. Had one of the missiles escaped? Were the Jews doomed after all? The leaders checked with the defence experts - no, this was not a missile, it was an old-style spacecraft, like the ones used in the early seventies. As it approached, the laser defence was trained on the craft. Debates raged as to whether the craft should be destroyed or allowed to get close enough to communicate with.

A message from the ship came just in time. It said, 'We are the last representatives from Earth - two from each country and we come in peace.' Some Jews rejoiced that there were survivors, others demanded isolation or death of the approaching group.

The Rabbi who had had the vision of earth's destruction told the leaders that G-d wanted them to have a chance, so they were allowed to circle the moon. When told they could have a section of land to themselves to farm and repopulate, the Earthlings were upset. They told the Jews that they should be allowed to live with the Jews and have all the same privileges - because, after all, in Judaism, the stranger is given the same rights and privileges as the citizen.

Upon hearing this, the leaders went to the Rabbi with the visions, and he offered to guide the visitors to their new home The leaders allowed him to give the instructions for landing. Of course, not trusting the Rabbi, the commander of the ship didn't listen to his advice and instead crashed into a lunar crater.

And so we have the final days of the history of the planet Earth, which have been generously shared with us by the Jewish colony of the 453rd Solar System of the (M Galaxy. Although the Earth is currently uninhabitable, the head engineer of the Jewish colony on Mars tells us that Venus will be fully colonized by the year 2120, and with continuous replanting, Earth will once again be ready for Jews returning from other planets in the year 2136.

An interesting side note - inside the wreckage of the rocket with the survivors from Earth was a specially marked package that had survived which included the following words: 'Once there was a great planet named the Earth. And there were many peoples on this planet, and they all existed peacefully with each other, except for the Jews Wherever there were Jews, there was trouble. Jews brought dirt and death and hatred and strife... They were finally banished from our planet, only to take with them many great inventors and scientists and doctors, leaving Earth with nothing. We have decided to destroy the remnants of the Jews, and since the first attempt failed, we are the last chance for Earth. Whoever shall find this will know the truth - It was all the Jews' fault.'

This panel has been saved and is on display at the Earth Memorial Museum at Rivka Crater, NW, for all travellers who wish to see the remains of a civilization that did not understand the words - 'he who blesses the Jews, is himself blessed, he who curses the Jews, is himself cursed.' Shalom.

Разница между Нобелевской и Ленинской премиями, конечно, существенная: Ленинская премия выдавала за золото глину, а Нобелевская - только латунь, но зато и авторитет у Нобелевской неизмеримо выше, а потому и вред, который она наносит искусству, неизмеримо больше. Фальшивая монета, которую наивные люди принимают за чистую, представляет бóльшую опасность. Ленинскую премию, к счастью, никто всерьез не принимал...

22 September 1914. The German submarine U-9 sunk a British light cruiser. Two other cruisers busied themselves with rescuing the crew, so presented themselves as an excellent target. They were sunk too. 1,459 sailors died. Otto Weddigen received half a dozen decorations for this.

7 November 1915. The British submarine E19 sunk the German light cruiser SMS Undine. The crew was rescued by the two accompanying destroyers; only 14 perished. Francis Cromie did not interfere with the rescue.

Запомните самое главное: тактика ваших действий совершенно не зависит от того, как называется вирус. Это грипп сезонный, свиной, слоновий, пандемический, это вообще не грипп - это не важно. Важно лишь то, что это вирус, что он передается воздушно-капельным путем и что он поражает органы дыхания. Отсюда и конкретные действия.

Профилактика

Если вы (ваш ребенок) встретитесь с вирусом, а у вас нет в крови защитных антител, вы заболеете. Антитела появятся в одном из двух случаев: либо вы переболеете, либо вы привьетесь.

Привиться можно только от сезонного гриппа. От свиного вакцины пока нет (в Украине). Тем не менее иметь защитные антитела к тем трем вирусам, которые входят в состав сезонной вакцины, лучше, чем не иметь вообще никаких.

1. Есть возможность привиться (привить дитя) - прививайтесь, но при том условии, что, во-первых, вы здоровы и, во-вторых, для вакцинации не надо будет сидеть в сопливой толпе в поликлинике. Последнее положение делает ваши шансы на адекватную вакцинацию призрачными.

2. Никаких лекарств с доказанной профилактической эффективностью не существует. Т.е. никакой лук, никакой чеснок, никакая горилка и никакие глотаемые вами или засовываемые в дитя таблетки не способны защитить ни от какого респираторного вируса вообще, ни от вируса гриппа в частности. Все, за чем вы убиваетесь в аптеках, все эти якобы противовирусные средства, якобы стимуляторы интерферонообразования, стимуляторы иммунитета и жутко полезные витамины, все, что в аптеках к сегодняшнему дню исчезло, все, чем правительство обещало в ближайшие дни аптеки наполнить - все это лекарства с недоказанной эффективностью, лекарства, удовлетворяющие главную ментальную потребность украинца - «треба щось робити» - и россиянина - «надо что-то делать».

Основная польза всех этих лекарств - психотерапия. Вы верите, вам помогает - я рад за вас, только не надо штурмовать аптеки - оно того не стоит.

3. Источник вируса - человек и только человек. Чем меньше людей, тем меньше шансов заболеть. Карантин - замечательно! Запрет на массовые сборища - прекрасно! Пройтись остановку пешком, не пойти лишний раз в супермаркет - мудро!

4. Маска. Полезная штука, но не панацея. Обязательно должна быть на больном, если рядом здоровые: вирус она не задержит, но остановит капельки слюны, особо богатые вирусом.

5. Руки больного - источник вируса не менее значимый, чем рот и нос. Больной касается лица, вирус попадает на руки, больной хватает все вокруг, вы касаетесь этого всего рукой, - здравствуй, ОРВИ.

Не трогайте своего лица. Мойте руки, часто, много, постоянно носите с собой влажные дезинфицирующие гигиенические салфетки, мойте, трите, не ленитесь!

Учитесь сами и учите детей, если уж нет платка, кашлять-чихать не в ладошку, а в локоть.

Начальники! Официальным приказом введите в подчиненных вам коллективах запрет на рукопожатия.

Пользуйтесь кредитными карточками. Бумажные деньги - источник распространения вирусов.

6. Воздух!!! Вирусные частицы часами сохраняют свою активность в сухом теплом и неподвижном воздухе, но почти мгновенно разрушаются в воздухе прохладном, влажном и движущемся. В этом аспекте митинг в центре Киева, на который собралось 200 000 человек, менее опасен, чем собрание 1000 человек в клубе в Ужгороде.

Гулять можно сколько угодно. Подцепить вирус во время прогулки практически нереально. В этом аспекте, если уж вы вышли погулять, так не надо показушного хождения в маске по улицам. Уж лучше подышите свежим воздухом, а маску натяните перед входом в автобус, офис или магазин.

Оптимальные параметры воздуха в помещении - температура около 20 °С, влажность 50-70%. Обязательно частое и интенсивное сквозное проветривание помещений. Любая система отопления сушит воздух. Именно начало отопительного сезона стало началом эпидемии! Контролируйте влажность. Мойте пол. Включайте увлажнители воздуха. Настоятельно требуйте увлажнения воздуха и проветривания помещений в детских коллективах.

Лучше теплее оденьтесь, но не включайте дополнительных обогревателей.

7. Состояние слизистых оболочек!!! В верхних дыхательных путях постоянно образуется слизь. Слизь обеспечивает функционирование т.н. местного иммунитета - защиты слизистых оболочек. Если слизь и слизистые оболочки пересыхают - работа местного иммунитета нарушается, вирусы, соответственно, с легкостью преодолевают защитный барьер ослабленного местного иммунитета, и человек заболевает при контакте с вирусом с многократно большей степенью вероятности. Главный враг местного иммунитета - сухой воздух, а также лекарства, способные высушивать слизистые оболочки (из популярных и всем известных - димедрол, супрастин, тавегил, трайфед - список далеко не полный, мягко говоря).

Увлажняйте слизистые оболочки! Элементарно: 1 чайная ложка обычной поваренной соли на 1 литр кипяченой воды. Заливаете в любой флакон-пшикалку (например, из-под сосудосуживающих капель) и регулярно пшикаете в нос (чем суше, чем больше народу вокруг - тем чаще, хоть каждые 10 минут). Для той же цели можно купить в аптеке физиологический раствор или готовые солевые растворы для введения в носовые ходы - салин, аква марис, хумер, маример, носоль и т.д. Главное - не жалейте! Капайте, пшикайте, особенно тогда, когда из дома (из сухого помещения) вы идете туда, где много людей, особенно если вы сидите в коридоре поликлиники.

В отношении профилактики это все.

Лечение

Фактически единственным препаратом, способным разрушить вирус гриппа, является озельтамивир, коммерческое имя - тамифлю. Теоретически есть еще одно лекарство (занамивир), но оно используется лишь ингаляционно, да и шансов увидеть его в нашей стране немного.

Тамифлю реально разрушает вирус, блокируя белок нейраминидазу (ту самую N в названии H1N1).

Тамифлю не едят все подряд при любом чихе. Это и недешево, и побочных явлений много, да и смысла не имеет. Тамифлю используют тогда, когда болезнь протекает тяжело (признаки тяжелой ОРВИ врачи знают), или когда даже легко заболевает человек из группы риска - старики, астматики, диабетики (кто относится к группам риска, врачи тоже знают). Суть: если показано тамифлю, то показано как минимум наблюдение врача и, как правило, - госпитализация. Неудивительно, что с максимально возможной вероятностью тамифлю, поступающий в нашу страну, будет распределяться по стационарам, а не по аптекам (хотя все может быть).

Внимание!!!

К абсолютному, к подавляющему большинству тех, кто читает эти строки, лечение противовирусными средствами не имеет никакого отношения.

ГРИПП - ЛЕГКАЯ БОЛЕЗНЬ ДЛЯ БОЛЬШИНСТВА.

Лечение ОРВИ вообще и гриппа в частности - это не глотание таблеток! Это создание таких условий, чтоб организм легко с вирусом справился.

ПРАВИЛА ЛЕЧЕНИЯ.

1. Тепло одеться, но в комнате прохладно и влажно. Температура около 20 °С, влажность 50-70%. Мыть полы, увлажнять, проветривать.

2. Категорически не заставлять есть. Если просит (если хочется) - легкое, углеводное, жидкое.

3. Пить (поить). Пить (поить). Пить (поить)!!!

Температура жидкости равна температуре тела. Пить много. Компоты, морсы, чай (в чай мелко порезать яблочко), отвары изюма, кураги. Если дитя перебирает - это буду, а это нет - пусть пьет что угодно, лишь бы пил. Идеально для питья - готовые растворы для пероральной регидратации. Продаются в аптеках и должны там быть: регидрон, хумана электролит, гастролит и т.д. Покупайте, разводите по инструкции, поите.

4. В нос часто солевые растворы.

5. Все «отвлекающие процедуры» (банки, горчичники, припарки, ноги в кипятке и т.д.) - классический совковый родительский садизм и опять-таки психотерапия (надо что-то делать).

6. Если надумали бороться с высокой температурой - только парацетамол или ибупрофен. Категорически нельзя аспирин.

Главная беда в том, что тепло одеть, увлажнить, проветрить, не пихать еду и напоить - это по-нашенски называется «не лечить», а «лечить» - это послать папу в аптеку…

7. При поражении верхних дыхательных путей (нос, горло, гортань) никакие отхаркивающие средства не нужны - они только усилят кашель. Поражение нижних дыхательных путей (бронхиты, пневмонии) не имеют к самолечению никакого отношения. Поэтому самостоятельно никаких «лазолванов-мукалтинов» и т.п.

8. Противоаллергические средства не имеют к лечению ОРВИ никакого отношения.

9. Вирусные инфекции не лечатся антибиотиками. Антибиотики не уменьшают, а увеличивают риск осложнений.

10. Все интерфероны для местного применения - лекарства с недоказанной эффективностью или «лекарства» с доказанной неэффективностью.

11. Гомеопатия - это не лечение травами, а лечение заряженной водой. Безопасно. Психотерапия (надо что-то делать).

Когда нужен врач

ВСЕГДА!!!

Но это нереально. Поэтому перечисляем ситуации, когда врач нужен обязательно:

отсутствие улучшений на четвертый день болезни;
повышенная температура тела на седьмой день болезни;
ухудшение после улучшения;
выраженная тяжесть состояния при умеренных симптомах ОРВИ;
появление изолированно или в сочетании: бледности кожи; жажды, одышки, интенсивной боли, гнойных выделений;
усиление кашля, снижение его продуктивности; глубокий вдох приводит к приступу кашля;
при повышении температуры тела не помогают, практически не помогают или очень ненадолго помогают парацетамол и ибупрофен.

Врач нужен обязательно и срочно:

потеря сознания;
судороги;
признаки дыхательной недостаточности (затрудненное дыхание, одышка, ощущение нехватки воздуха);
интенсивная боль где угодно;
даже умеренная боль в горле при отсутствии насморка;
даже умеренная головная боль в сочетании с рвотой;
отечность шеи;
сыпь, которая не исчезает при надавливании на нее;
температура тела выше 39 °С, которая не начинает снижаться через 30 минут после применения жаропонижающих средств;
любое повышение температуры тела в сочетании с ознобом и бледностью кожи.

Все, что я написал выше, - это информация, которая теоретически должна быть известна любому врачу и которую врачи должны нести в массы.

Today my kids woke me up before the alarm clock went off - despite an explicit exhortation yestereve.
Those who want an extra hour for golf in the summer - or those who don't like to wake up in the dark in the winter - should mess up their own circadian rhythms, not mine or my kids'.
I don't care whether we stick with the astronomical time (12noon = astronomical noon in the middle of the time zone) or some sort of shifted time (e.g., summer time all year long), but clock shifts twice a year must stop!

People are unconsciously fairer and more generous when they are in clean-smelling environments

"Could be that getting our kids to clean up their rooms might help them clean up their acts, too."

The study titled "The Smell of Virtue" was unusually simple and conclusive. Participants engaged in several tasks, the only difference being that some worked in unscented rooms, while others worked in rooms freshly spritzed with Windex.

The first experiment evaluated fairness.

As a test of whether clean scents would enhance reciprocity, participants played a classic "trust game." Subjects received $12 of real money (allegedly sent by an anonymous partner in another room). They had to decide how much of it to either keep or return to their partners who had trusted them to divide it fairly. Subjects in clean-scented rooms were less likely to exploit the trust of their partners, returning a significantly higher share of the money.

* The average amount of cash given back by the people in the "normal" room was $2.81. But the people in the clean-scented room gave back an average of $5.33.

The second experiment evaluated whether clean scents would encourage charitable behavior.

Subjects indicated their interest in volunteering with a campus organization for a Habitat for Humanity service project and their interest in donating funds to the cause.

* Participants surveyed in a Windex-ed room were significantly more interested in volunteering (4.21 on a 7-point scale) than those in a normal room (3.29).
* 22 percent of Windex-ed room participants said they'd like to donate money, compared to only 6 percent of those in a normal room.

Follow-up questions confirmed that participants didn't notice the scent in the room and that their mood at the time of the experiment didn't affect the outcomes.

"Basically, our study shows that morality and cleanliness can go hand-in-hand," said Galinsky of the Kellogg School. "Researchers have known for years that scents play an active role in reviving positive or negative experiences. Now, our research can offer more insight into the links between people's charitable actions and their surroundings."

While this study examined the influence of the physical environment on morality, Zhong and Liljenquist previously published work that demonstrated an intimate link between morality and physical cleanliness. Their 2006 paper in Science reported that transgressions activated a desire to be physically cleansed.

Liljenquist is now researching how perceptions of cleanliness shape our impressions of people and organizations. "The data tell a compelling story about how much we rely upon cleanliness cues to make a wide range of judgments about others," she said.
